moniquemeloche is pleased to announce the participation of Ebony G. Patterson, Sanford Biggers, and Maia Cruz Palileo in the 61st International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia – titled In Minor Keys by Koyo Kouoh. All artworks are located in the Giardini.
Rooted in listening, sensation, memory, and collective resonance, In Minor Keys curated by Koyo Kouoh, brings together artists whose practices move through the emotional, visual, sensory, and affective. The exhibition turns toward the quieter frequencies of art: the oases, gardens, thresholds, processions, and intimate worlds that artists create as spaces of reflection, repair, and possibility.
Ebony G. Patterson's work joins this polyphonic assembly through its sustained attention to beauty, mourning, visibility, and care. Her richly layered practice considers what is hidden, overlooked, or made difficult to see, holding space for both grief and transformation.
Sanford Biggers and Maia Cruz Palileo will present work through Denniston Hill, an artist-founded residency and research site in the Southern Catskills. Developed as a space for shared living, making, and dialogue, Denniston Hill brings together artists, architects, and thinkers to engage questions of land, history, and collective practice. Its presentation at the Biennale extends this ethos, foregrounding collaboration and process as central to the work on view.
Aligned with the spirit of In Minor Keys, the project reflects the exhibition’s attention to relation, resonance, and the intimate structures artists build in response to broader social and spatial conditions.
