In this rendition of Greek Mythology's Three Graces, Smith adds to an already rich and diverse artistic tradition. The Graces are daughters of Zeus, who represented charm, beauty, and grace. Among the master artists who have depicted them are Botticelli, Rubens, and Picasso. As Smith applies his artistic style and cultural references to this 2023 painting, he transports the sisters into a world of racial tension represented by the camouflaged characters in white robes. White supremacy threatens to lower the curtain on charm, beauty and grace and their influence for the good.
