Jade is a jazz singer and actor, performs in Harlem, Paris, and St Paulo year-round. Lisa is an actor, playwriter, and director, and Daniel de Jesus is a composer, singer, artist, and longtime music collaborator with the artist. The three are the leading players in theCrew, a performance group composed by the artist in 2013. TheCrew has performed theOpera commissioned by El Museo del Barrio, Chocolate, howtoorderachocolatecake, heisunclean,and Green,howiwantyougreen a large sound piece based on the last eleven poems by the Spanish writer, Federico Garcia Lorca. Like the paintings and drawings, the performance addresses black and brown queer history, immigration, history, and literature.
